Once an implant has been placed it must have time to integrate with your bone prior to placing a crown on top of it. This timeframe is usually about 4 months. If your tooth is in an area visible when you smile, Dr. Walpole and his staff will fabricate a temporary fake tooth so that you will be able to smile with confidence prior to getting your final restoration.

Dr. Walpole begins every dental implant treatment with a thorough exam and medical history review. While certain health conditions or lifestyle choices may present added risks and challenges, most patients are able to receive dental implants. The longer someone has been without a tooth in the area the dental implant needs to go can affect whether or not dental implants are feasible, but with a good CBCT scan we can determine how much bone is available and, in certain cases, we may be able to graft bone to the site in preparation for a dental implant.
